GET DIRTY: EXHIBITION DESIGN

With the premise of Waste of ______ we were charged to research something physical or abstract that was being wasted. My team chose to focus on Waste of Time on screens due to screen addiction.

While there is this amazing resource of an on campus farm that gives students the resources and experience, it is barely known. This project aims to teach the campus about the Farm.

MAIN SPACE

We chose to focus on the aspect that "The virtual world parodies real life but cannot replace real life experiences." And take the metaphors that interfaces use and put them back into real life to reintroduce people to the real world.

GREENHOUSE

Our final deliverable is a pop up space encouraging visitors to spend less time on screen, and more time creating meaningful memories, using aspects from both concepts.

POTTING STATION

To give an introduction to the space the right wall will include a description.

This activity will use the metaphor of files and ask visitors to "open up" about how screen time has affected their life.

The connection to social media put into real life will bring a focus on local businesses and activities.

The final piece within the exhibit is the chat room upstairs. This will be a space to bring the visitors together.
